"Mom I Got It"
By JoAnn Thomas, Founder of Pillow Talk with Jesus

Mother I love you!  Mom I did not understand then but I understand now, because I am a mother.  Let me say thank you for being delicate as a flower and firm as a board.  Yes, mom the Lord took care of me and He has certainly taken care of you all these years. You learned your position/role and it became effortless. I believe that is because you knew who you were and what you were to be to us your children.  You loved us in spite of the circumstances.  Now I know it to be worth the fight that I never give up.

You see I realize that motherhood is a task worth the effort and sacrifice.  Mother you birth and raised us with every fiber of your being. I could remember you teaching your family who God is and how you don’t want to be without Him. I didn’t want to hear it at the time but the heart beat of my spirit is ever so tune in to His voice.  Thanks. So often I saw you remain in a posture of faith when we did not have much food, somehow you seem to have the gift to stretch a little.  And when daddy lost his job you kept us in school, clean and fed. Mom you were always our best fan and encourage and supported us in all our endeavors.  A mother’s love for her children endures in the most trying circumstance.  She lets her own life go for the sake of her child. That is because she is reminded of the depth and height of God’s love for her.   Motherhood is more than a job it is a ministry, it take work and it mean years of sacrifice of ones self.  For that reason alone I believe a good mother should be respected and obeyed.

In my own motherhood experience I have discovered that my children are not by products of the biological process, but they are to be nurtured with love and discipline.  God has a plan for the mother, the high call it is an all consuming task. Her job is to nurture her child spiritually and raise them to be God fearing, loving and respectable to others. Mom I watched you rise to the challenge and overcame.  I will too.  "I salute you Mom and all Mothers on this Mother’s Day."
